It’s never too early to plan a trip on the Blues Highway by way of Bowdon Georgia. Located just a hop-skip-and jump from downtown Atlanta, the Bowdon Blues Concert is scheduled this May 18th, 7-9 p.m. at Copeland Hall.
Mike Watson’s and Rick Fowler’s bands will come together for a Homecoming Concert at Copeland Hall for an evening of down home blues.
Mike Watson is known as one of the finest guitarist and singer-songwriter’s anywhere. He has opened for, or performed with, the Freddy Fender Band, Confederate Railroad, Cheap Trick, Darlene Austin, Hamilton, Joe Frank, and Reynolds, Bill Haley’s Comets, Janie Frickie, Melva Montgomery, Allen Frizzell, and Doyle Grisham, just to name a few. Although Mike is known for his blues interpretations, you will find a variety of styles at any given show. For us blues lovers, his music brings to mind some of the best of the all time legends like Muddy Water’s and B.B. King. Many of his own songs over the years have became crowd favorites like Down to the River, Juanita Juanita, and Lonely Here Tonight.
The music will speak for itself when Rick Fowler and his band from Athens Georgia take the stage during this evening of Blues. Rick Fowler was the former guitarist for Fortnox and Bombay.
