Burger King: Reigns Budapest
Quote for Today: I never needed much, and I never thought I’d get more than what I had. A trip to Burger King was the biggest thing in the world to me – Heaven. Dave Grohl
On this day in history 1991, Burger King opened a restaurant in Budapest, Hungary. The average Burger King is only about 2,800 square feet. The one at this location occupies three levels and 15,000 square feet at the intersection of this city’s two largest thoroughfares. At the time this was the largest BK in the World.

Today we looked up the menu for this European outpost of Burger King and here are the items we would like to try: The Angry Whopper with Hot Chili Sauce, Spicy Onion, Jalapenos, and Pepper Jack Cheese inspired the spicy side of our palates. The Fresh Whopper with cucumber, yogurt, and a mild pepper sauce appealed to our heavenly side. As a side dish, the baked potato fries with a crispy outside and tender inside sounded great. They look just like American fries, but they say they are baked, worth a try. The Fiesta Tortilla with crispy chicken, fresh vegetables and a yogurt sauce also whet our appetites.
Whether you try this colossal Burger King or not, Budapest is one of the prettiest
cities in the world to visit. A walk across the Danube on the Chain Bridge would be a great experience for anyone.
