National Ramen Noodle Day

National Ramen Noodle Day

Quote for Today: Contemporary ramen is totally different than what most Americans think ramen should be. Ramen is not one thing; there are many, many different types. David Chang

Roadtrips R Us, National Ramen Noodle Day

Today is the official food holiday for Ramen Noodles. The creator of Ramen Noodles was Momofuku Ando born on March 5th, 1910 in Taiwan.

Mr. Ando was the founder of Nissin Food Products, and invented ‘Instant  Noodles’.  With the ravages of World War II still in effect, Momofuko Ando saw a need for inexpensive food for the masses and the instant Ramen noodle was created. In the beginning, Instant Ramen was considered a luxury. Today, this noodle stable may be purchased around the world. Nissin in India has an intriguing recipe for Chili Garlic Noodles that I think you will enjoy. My favorite recipe follows: Chili Garlic Noodles – Serves 4-6-Prep Time: 50 minutes
