Quote for Today: “Life is rather like a tin of sardines – we’re all of us looking for the key.”  Alan Bennett   Today is National Sardine Day and I for one never realized how important these creatures that I pass by every day at the grocery store really are.  Sardines have made a come back in a big way. They are a superfood packed with protein, Omega 3‘s and vitamins that support cardiovascular, bone and optimal health in general.       Sardines are abundant in the seas of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Mediterranean with Spain, Portugal and Norway leading the world’s canned production.  Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte helped popularize these little fish by initiating their canning to help feed the masses he ruled over.     Restaurants are putting these little guys back on their menus as well....
