Thought for Today:  Curry is like candy, candy to middle-aged men. Today in history in 1949, Siam became known as the kingdom of Thailand; I wonder why?  The best answer I could come up with was that the ruler at the time decided that Siam meaning “dark or brown” was not appropriate.  The word Thai means “freedom” and this wise ruler figured that freedom land was a good name.  In the immortal words of Mel Brooks, “It’s good to be the king.” The history of Thailand goes back many centuries and except for American Indian history that is not well documented, we Americans have not been around very long.  With their long history and a host of other regions surrounding them such as Malaysia, Vietnam, Burma, Laos, and Cambodia just to name a few, this region produces one of...
